UKChatterbox Privacy Policy
We may collect, store and use the following kinds of information:
Information about your computer and visits to and use of this website and the associated chat service.
This may include your IP address, geographical location, browser type and version, operating system,
length of visit, page views and website navigation. Except in the case of legal matters we do not routinely
share this information with 3rd parties.
Transient information which passes through our servers is also collected and retained for a limited time.
This includes conversations which you have with other users, messages which you send and receive
through our website messaging system and comments that you make in our public chat rooms.
Information that UKChatterbox systems automatically record regarding any actions which may have
been taken against your profile for breaches of UKChatterbox rules.
Information in the form of notes recorded against your profile which authorised staff may make
regarding your conduct when using UKChatterbox services.
Information regarding certain changes that you may have requested from us which may include
(but not be limited to) a change of date of birth or email address.
Except in the case of legal matters we do not routinely share this information with 3rd parties.
Authorised members of UKChatterbox staff may from time to time view any or all of this information
as part of the management and safe running of UKChatterbox.
Information which you provide"Information which you provide
UKChatterbox is essentially an anonymous registration service. Mandatarily we collect the information
which you provide about your screen name, date of birth, geographical location, email address and gender.
We do not validate this information or use it for any purpose not connected with administering UKChatterbox
services and your profile. We do not mandatarily collect personal information such as a validatable real name,
an address or any kind of personal financial information.
Some information which you provide on your profile is publicly available to everyone. This includes
your screen name and any pictures that you have uploaded. It also includes any information which
you have provided about yourself on your profile as well as your gender. It does not include any real
name which you may have provided or your email address. Nor does it show your date of birth though
it does show your age.
No information from children under age 13: If you are under age 13, please do not attempt to register
for UKChatterbox or provide any personal information about yourself to us. If we learn that we have
collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly
as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from a child under age 13, please
contact us.
Information submitted to us via this website will be used for the purposes specified in this
privacy policy or in relevant parts of the website.
We may use your information to:
(a) Administer the website and chat service;
(b) Improve your browsing experience by personalising the website;
(c) Enable your use of the services available on the website and chat service;
(d) Deal with enquiries and complaints made by or about you relating to both the website and the chat service.
Cookies
A cookie consists of information sent by a web server to a web browser, and stored by the browser.
The information is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server.
This enables the web server to identify and track the web browser.
We may use both “session” cookies and “persistent” cookies on the website. We will use the session
cookies to keep track of you whilst you navigate the website. We will use the persistent cookies to
enable our website to recognise you when you visit.
Session cookies will be deleted from your computer when you close your browser. Persistent cookies
will remain stored on your computer until deleted, or until they reach a specified expiry date.
Moderation
Most features of the UKChatterbox service are moderated. This includes (but may not be limited to)
Profile information, picture uploads, forum submissions and chat service content.
Action will be taken against service users who breach UKChatterbox useage policy in any of these areas.
That action may result in a suspension of access to certain UKChatterbox services or to the service as a
whole. By creating a UKChatterbox profile to agree to abide by the rules under which UKChatterbox operates.
There will be occasions when moderation does not capture a breach of policy. In such cases
UKChatterbox is not responsible for the content which you post however you remain both
personally and legally liable for it.
Forums
No warranty is given as to the quality, accuracy, compatibility or fitness-for-purpose of the website
forums and they should not be taken as constituting advice nor relied upon when making decisions.
Disclosures
We may disclose information about you to any UKChatterbox member of staff insofar as is reasonably
necessary for the purposes as set out in this privacy policy.
In addition, we may disclose information:
(a) To the extent that we are required to do so by law;
(b) In connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings;
(c) In order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention);
(d) To the purchaser (or prospective purchaser) of any business or asset which we are (or are contemplating) selling;
(e) To any person who we reasonably believe may apply to a court or other competent authority for disclosure of that information,
where in our reasonable opinion such court or authority would be reasonably likely to order said disclosure.
(f) UKChatterbox reserves the right to report any evidence of crime discovered in content transmitted over it's servers
by service users to the relevant authority. This may be to a constabulary or in the case of child exploitation to the
Child Exploitation Online Protection service.
This reporting service may be used by anyone.
Except as provided in this privacy policy, we will not disclose your information to third parties.

Your Rights
UKChatterbox collects only the minimum amount of information required for the safe running and
administration of UKChatterbox services. The length of time for which information is held varies
depending on the type of information.
You are entitled to know what information is held about you. A fee may be payable
for this service which is currently limited by law to £10.
Before providing this information UKChatterbox will need to verify your identity.
This is quite a complex process due to the anonymous registration nature of UKChatterbox profiles.
UKChatterbox aims to provide the information to you within 28 days of receiving a request.
This is subject to you responding to the validation process within 48 hours of UKChatterbox
sending to you by electronic means a request for further information, and the ability of
UKChatterbox to verify your identity based upon the information which you supply.
Obtaining the information:
In the first instance you should submit an application by email. You must follow the emailing
guidelines as listed in our "Contacting UKChatterbox" article.
Your email must be entitled; 'Subject Access Request' and sent to:
sar@ukchatterbox.com
During the validation process you must be prepared to submit your name and address to
UKChatterbox in order that a proper written response may be made. Providing a false name
and/or address may constitute a criminal offence.

By creating a UKChatterbox profile you agree to the contents of the Privacy Policy and the contents of all articles displayed in the site rules & policies subsection of the Help & FAQ's page.
These articles form the combined Terms & Conditions of UKChatterbox. It is your reponsibility to read and familiarise yourself with their contents in order to ensure that you are able to comply. Failure to do so does not constitute reasonable cause for being in breach.
It is important that you re-check these articles periodically as the Terms & Conditions may change from time-to-time. No other form of notification will be provided.
If you are unwilling to abide by any of the Terms & Conditions including the Privacy Policy then you should delete your profile.
