OK, guys; I give in. With a few notable
exceptions, (and I'm not pointing towards
myself), many posts here are gramatically
incorrect, have poor spelling, punctuation
and it's just been pointed out that perhaps
I'm the one who's out of step.

for mistakes to happen then he sends in

I've already said that I give in. Having said
that, I noticed that I'm not the only one who
cringes when they see a comma instead of an
apostrophe. That's not 'txt spk', it's
ignorance.

Probably absolutely nothing. I'm not on a
crusade; I would just like to see better
English, but know that it will never happen.
Perhaps we should all be bilingual - txt spk
and English. |

ok not being too clever i looked up the word
pedantic;
marked by a narrow focus on or display of
learning especially its trivial
aspects........
and there you have it......

Doug are you seriouslly suggesting that
people who have dyslexia, learning
disabilities etc should not contribute to
this sort of environment!!!!!
I know a lady from another site.......
she is profoundly deaf....as are both her
parents.........
Now this lady has true ability....
her input to the forums is welcome, mistakes
and all !!!!!
not the superficial, up ur (yep thats how i
type)own arse kind of judgemental nonsense
that you seem to be trying to portray......
Lighten up Doug, we all have varying
abilities and who the stuff are you to
dictate whats acceptable...................

Brilliant idea, I would enjoy giving out a
gold star to anyone who manages to make a
post without a mistake and another bronze
star for a perfect txt spk msg, but I'm not a
Moderator and have no wish to be one.
I'll just go with the flow and continue
spitting at my computer whenever I see a
glaring error. I get angry about things I can
change, not about things I cannot. |

I'm tempted to say that using a metaphor is a
bit like throwing the occasional produce of a
Margaritiferidae before certain types of
ungulates here, but I'm too polite to even
hint at it.

Tinzel, it was a roundabout way of saying
"casting pearls before swine". I assumed that
anyone with access to the 'Net would work it
out.
Obviously I was wrong, but it was meant to be
an attempt at relevant humour.

Best typo I ever made was with amemo
addressed to All Sh/it Leaders (instead of
shift)....................
Still makes me smile when I think of it...
because it was soooooo apt. |
