its a very emotive situation
we are a humanitiarian nation (unless your a
national) and we help those in need of help
if we found a big open space in the middle of
nowhere and circled it with impenetrable
barbed wire and put up tents in it, we could
immediately hold all asylum seekers and
potential illegals while their cases were
considered.
this hardship, which would be a relief for
the genuine persecuted arrivees, would take
the shine off the uk for many would be
economic refugees
it would mean that they would not be able to
disappear without trace; we would ensure that
they ate, did not get involved in crime, were
not persecuted and could be easily deported
if there claim was unsuccessful
their presence at central base/s would enable
them to be interviewed by the authorities,
receive medical treatment and for children to
be educated
id be interested in your views and whether u
think im a stupid fascist or have posed a
possible solution (not claiming originality
cos im sure others have thought about it
before) to such a complex situation |

i dont think its inhumane sparky
they would have all they need
food, shelter, sanitation, health
it would enable them to be processed fairly
and quickly
but i take your point

just to add this would only be for illegals
or assylum seekers
anyone with visas etc would have free
access

its not a perfect solution sparky but it is
better than the truly persecuted have escaped
from
but it would mean the authorities would have
to make decisions quickly.
in the 60s or 70s lots of asians were
expelled from (i think) uganda
they integratred themselves very quickly but
they were housed in military camps at the
time i believe
in hindsight it did them little lasting harm
and they are now part of our community and
contribute so much |

The real solution is for those countries to
be able to govern themselves properly -
unfortunately sub-Saharan Africa do not seem
able to - theyr'e all mostly 'basket-cases'. |
