another ghost story for you.....
just_den Status: Moderator Date: 2008-05-15 Time: 21:01:58	mid 1972, station road, bramley, leeds... christine was 11, she was tucked up in bed one night, the family had only lived there for a few weeks, she felt awkward, restless... tossing and turning she noticed in the corner of the room, an attic room, what she thought looked like a figure in a sitting position, she strained her eyes to look at the object before, in her own mind at least, realized it was a man, she could make out the outline of a beard... he was looking at her.. she lept out of bed and ran for the stairs to her parents room where her mother, step father and baby brother were sleeping, she woke her step father, she was in a state, she told him about the man she'd just seen... her step father went to her room but found no man, he checked the rest of the house but found no signs of entry.... he calmed christine and managed to assure her she'd had a bad dream that seemed real, he gave her a cuddle and tucked her back into bed.... 10 minutes later the man was back, this time christine was sure he was glaring at her, she could feel his eyes burning into her, again she ran from her room and told her step father.. there was no way christine was going to sleep in there that night, or ever again come to think... christine's two other brothers nicky and stewart, 5 and 7 respectively, were sleeping in their shared room, their step dad carried them to christine's room, nicky stayed asleep, stewart briefly woke up, the step father told him they're just swapping rooms with christine... christine went to sleep in their room..... everyone settled down to go back to sleep, but a short while later the step father became aware of somebody standing at the side of the bed, he figured it was christine, he sat up and looked but there stood stewart, rubbing his eyes saying "dad, who's that man in the attic"

littlemisssunshine Date: 2008-05-15 Time: 21:17:13	I'll protect you Sparkle. Unusual story, but I personally don't believe it. I don't completely dismiss the idea of it being true - but I have heard a countless amount of stories, all containing a pattern, all with the same type of writing...I think of these as being campfire stories or the kind of thing that kids forward on sites such as Bebo, not something I take literally.

littlemisssunshine Date: 2008-05-15 Time: 21:21:52	Hey Suze Yes Den, but most similar stories being passed around Bebo are also probably much older than the internet too, but we all hear it from somewhere. So then one person posts it and it passes around. The stories that get passed around on that site can be ancient or just invented yesterday.

just_den Status: Moderator Date: 2008-05-15 Time: 21:26:49	i know many of those sunshine, but there is a couple that i know, that i've been told first hand from the people who say it was them, or happened to them, some, like this one, have an entire family telling the same tale.. now i'm not saying this was a ghost, i'm very much on the fence about believing in them, it could have been an illusion with light, a poster that looked different in the dark... i have no idea...

luckylips1 Date: 2008-05-15 Time: 21:36:37	ive seen many things and i dont really care what people believe about my experiences. the first spirit i saw i believe was my guide when i was younger. i was 5 and my mum and dad were in greece and my nan was looking at me at our house. i saw a little girl in my doorway and ran in tears to the room my nan was in. she told me id had a bad dream at the time. shes a claivoyant medium and later told me that she knew what it was id seen and that i wasnt dreaming. it was my guide. ive seen, heard and felt many things all my life.

luckylips1 Date: 2008-05-15 Time: 21:50:28	i believe you... when you see blue lights which are ofetn associated with spirit healing your supposed to say thankyou. my mum saw them for a week every night while my little brother was in hospital with bowel complications and a gangrene appendix. he survived though. i saw them the night before my mum died but i didnt resalise why they were there until we knew my mum was ill.

tinzel501 Date: 2008-05-15 Time: 22:14:17	i believe in this kinda stuff,when my youngest started nursery i was stood outside the shop and was thinking how lonley it was now they were all in school,and at the same time of this thought i felt a tug on the back of my jacket,like a child would tug for your attention,i turned round but there was no one there.i went to spirtualist church and the medium looked right at me and told me you have a little girl with you from spirit,she is pulling you back into the love as the tears you cry inside she sees,you are never alone.....and then i grieved for the baby i lost during pregnancy.....

luckylips1 Date: 2008-05-15 Time: 22:21:50	i know hwat my heating sounds like and my floor boards... i know the diffence between the sound of a woman groaning and my radiators coming on... thats creepy tinzel. i was once sat with my nans mate and i just saw for about 10 secinds a little boy standing next to him. i asked if he knew of any children that had passed on close to him. i told him that id heard the name daniel, which i had and he told me his wife had lost a baby about 6 years before. he did look that age and he said that daniels the name they had picked out. im quite good at psychometry too.

just_den Status: Moderator Date: 2008-05-15 Time: 22:28:10	dont read this sparkle.... in 1992 my dad died, he'd been living in an adapted flat having had both legs amputated below the knee, we had to clear his flat quite quickly, until we could shift his stuff it all ended up at my mothers house, i still lived there at the time.. early one morning i half woke up, dawn was breaking, my dad had a shackleton type chair which we'd put at the side of my bed, for a split second i could swear i saw him sitting there, with his head rested on his right hand.. it didn't register at first and my eyes just closed..... then popped back open to look again, there was nothing... the following night i was in my bedroom, ozzy osbourne's bark at the moon was blaring out strangely, i could smell him, my dad not ozzy, it was a smell i'd swear i'd never smelt before but was instantly recognizable, animalistic kind of experience, not a stinky kind of smell... i knew it was his essence, but figure i had loads of his stuff in my room, that must be the source, i just didn't notice it or it wasn't strong enough before.. then i noticed his chair..... it was that "teddy bear" kind of material, the sort you can draw patterns in with your finger and then brush it away.. i could see a pattern, it looked like a crude drawing of a skull, i dismissed the first thoughts and may have even laughed, then the smell seemed to intensify, the image seemed to be changing as i looked, a skull, then an unrecognizable head, then an image that will stay with my for the rest of my life... it was big dennis's face right there, in the fabric looking at me, complete with glasses... i though "NO!!!!!" i probably said that out loud... i called my mother... who just happens to love ghostly stuff... her jaw dropped, she ran her hand over the fabric but the image remained, at one point the eyes seemed to turn toward her... i'm not an easily scared person, i've stared death in the face many times when i was in the forces, but i dont mind admitting i didn't sleep in my room that night... the following day my brother took a picture of it, it'd faded, but its there....

littlemisssunshine Date: 2008-05-15 Time: 22:30:52	I like all these. I'm not narrow-minded, just disorientated by the amount of stories that go about. It was when I friend of mine informed me that her mother believed that the spirit of my friend's grandfather existed in one of her pets that I thought a little more. I myself have experienced unusual things, but I never thought anything of it.

tinzel501 Date: 2008-05-15 Time: 22:37:12	sweetpea ive been here for 6 years in july and ive had some scary and i mean scary experiences,my boys wouldnt sleep in the front bedroom kept complaining of a shadow by the curtains they were always in bed with me...i had a psychic medium come here and she explained wot it was,she said he is stood behind you he dosent want me to tell you wot he is,i turned my head slightly and i shat me pants,that night as i went into the front bedroom the lightbulb started to flicker madly,i told it firmly get the fook out of my house and stay the fook away from my kids.....touch wood,i havent felt it since and the house is a lot warmer....

luckylips1 Date: 2008-05-15 Time: 22:49:15	In late August of 1971, Maria Gomez Pereira noticed a stain on the hearth of her kitchen in the small town of Belmez, Spain. Maria paid little attention to the spot, but soon noticed that it seemed to grow and change with each passing day. On August 23rd, Maria glanced at the spot again. There, staring up from the tile, was a human face. Although somewhat crude in appearance, the stain had clearly taken the form of a person's face. The expression of the face seemed to indicate sorrow, the visage of someone burdened by deep grief and worry. Furthermore, it appeared to be female. No amount of scrubbing or cleaning would get rid of the face, which actually looked more grievous after any attempt to rub it away. Terrified by the apparition, which continued to fluctuate on a daily basis, Maria's husband Juan took his pickaxe to the hearth tile and laid plain cement in its place. Undaunted, faces began appearing on the new concrete floor, and later in other parts of the kitchen. On September 8th, one week after Juan destroyed the original face, an identical face appeared in exactly the same place as the first. This face eventually became known as the pava, a Spanish word meaning "female turkey". The faces caused a huge commotion in the village, bringing in curiosity seekers, journalists, and paranormal investigators from all over the world. The Belmez authorities quickly tired of the ruckus and were convinced that the faces were a hoax or natural phenomenon of some sort. As they would soon discover, evidence of fakery or natural causes was not forthcoming. At the urging of the city council, the kitchen floor was ripped up and the ground beneath it was excavated. A ghastly sight greeted the workmen: two headless skeletons were discovered, along with a large number of assorted human bones. Complete excavation of the ground beneath the floor would eventually turn up nine decapitated skeletons, all dating from the 13th century. Not only was the Pereira kitchen built on top of a cemetery, but the individuals interred there had died violent deaths. Further study of the area revealed that the same area had been used as a Christian, Catholic, and Muslim burial ground at various times in the past, most recently in the medieval era. Although a few local residents maintain that some of the faces resemble a family that was killed in the house during the Spanish Civil War, the apparitions are "drawn" with smooth, simple lines, not unlike the figures in the medieval Bayeux Tapestry. The excavation of the kitchen floor seemed to intensify the phenomenon. In addition to faces, entire figures began appearing. One remarkable scene was a group of three figures, apparently two adult women and a child. Portrayed from the waist up, the three seem apprehensive about something, as indicated by their tense expressions. Another female appeared totally nude, and the figure of a particularly eerie woman had long, curly hair and empty eye sockets. Sometimes only part of a face or body would take shape. One such fragment was unmistakably a long, slender left arm that bent at the elbow. The fingers were contorted and disproportionate to each other, and each digit ended in a well-defined point. This appeared to be a claw rather than a hand. Madrid-based parapsychologist German de Argumosa and German paranormal expert Hans Bender came to Belmez in early 1972. In an effort to prove that no trickery was involved, de Argumosa photographed each face and sealed up the entire kitchen for a period of three months. In the presence of a crowd that included the town notary and a German television crew, the investigators placed a protective cover over each of the faces in the kitchen. With cameras rolling, the edges of the covers were sealed and the entrance to the kitchen was then closed with wax in full view of the notary. If any fraud was taking place, the investigators and city council were determined to out it. When the three months were up, the wax seal on the kitchen door was reopened and the protective jackets removed from the faces. Not only were the faces still there, but they had continued to evolve and move about during their three months of isolation. The town authorities finally absolved the Pereira family from blame; it was clear that the phenomenon was not caused by human hands. One of the more bizarre aspects of the phenomenon was that the faces seemed to be aware of one another, or that a higher authority made sure that certain faces appeared in the house. While a blur on the floor might contain more than one face, the faces never overlapped or interfered with one another to the point of being unrecognizable. In one instance, a tile bearing a face was removed from the house and taken to a laboratory for further study. Soon, a face identical to the one that had been removed appeared in the empty spot on the floor. When the original face was returned to the house, its replacement quickly faded away. Experiments to detect radioactivity in the tiles were carried out, as well as x-ray tests, acoustic tests and infrared and ultraviolet photographic analysis. These tests revealed that the faces were not made up of dye, pigment or paint of any kind, nor was mold or the humidity in the house a factor. Even when one was placed in a sterile laboratory setting, the face never stopped evolving. its a true story and it usd to make me sh!t myself.... sorry its so long.

luckylips1 Date: 2008-05-15 Time: 22:53:30	tinzel, the night my mum died i started to compilate a cd with all her fave songs on it to give to family and friends. i asked my fella if i should put a particular cher son on it and he said he wasnt sure. the lights started flickering, i have 3 seperate light fixtures in my living room and the kept flickering one by one. it was not a power surge becaue it was too long and the flickering seemed to be going with a rhythm like a heart beat or something. it was amazing. to top it off my mums best mate had the same thing happen on the same night....

amathist Date: 2008-05-29 Time: 21:11:52	three years ago my sister-in-law died from internal bleeding, she had an illness that tragically could have been cured with antibiotics if it had been corectly diagnosed in time, she had just turned 40 and left my brother and two children, the day that she died I was woken several times during the night by a light similar in colour to the light from a sunbed( that is the only way I can describe it) eventually I fell asleep on the sofa in the early hours of the morning, when I woke there was blood spots on the wall and floor next to where I was sleeping, there is no explination as to how or why it was there. another coincidence 'maybe' is that my sister-in-law also had the same name as my late mother,died around the same month,in the same hospital at aproximately the same age. sometimes we need to believe there is something else, and the ones that we love are still around us, hence if we consider ghosts to be at least a possibility it gives us hope and comfort. is this to mutch to ask that those of us who are steadfast in our belief that there is nothing more to life other that what we have lived. at least let those of us whith a different opinion, follow our belief and find some form of peace to help put our minds to rest?
