with all the anti-muslim feeling here, i just
wanted to know how many muslims you know from
real life and what you think of them as
people?
are they all brainwashed taliban/osama
wannabes or do they come over as normal
decent people to you?
this question is mainly for non-muslim
brits.

we all know a Muslim cannot have a non-muslim
as a best friend , or even a real friend.
This is because in the HOLY KORAN ALLAH warns
not be be pals with jews and christians
5:51
take not jews and christians as pals, they
scratch each others backs and if you your
pals with them you become one of them as
Allah guides you from just people"(

Ruton has can you not be predjudiced against
a whole group of people who keep the wars of
the world going.
If muslims stopped fighting everyone then all
the armies of the o world could stand down
AND ALL INJUSTICES NEGOTIATED AROUND A TABLE
but oh no the koran tells you to fight and we

having lived in an islamic country and worked
closely in the UK with islamic faith people i
can say that some are like you and i and some
are more radical in their thoughts just like
the rest of any society. Of course we all
have our own prejudice but it's when we allow
it to effect/affect the way we treat other
that it is evil. What i feel is that you
should not expect people to think as you do
(and that's ok), but because we do not think
the same does this make us enemies???? |

i have a few muslim acquanitances and find
them nice ppl
but always have this feeling that if they had
to make choices about where their loyalties
lie, they would choose islam over their
english nationality
we hear about "disaffected muslim youth" and
hear all the excuses about their reversion to
islam, but as many are now second and third
generation english they should have embraced
our culture and our laws and our ways, which
do not conflict with their or anyone elses
religious beliefs |

i know countless muslims, some of them are
truly awful people, some of them are among
the nicest people i have ever met...
i know countless christians too, some are
truly awful people, some are among the nicest
people i know...
to judge 1.2 billion people purely on their
religion is just plain silly to me..
the koran says to kill the none believer,
this is true, the bible says to torture the
none believer for 3 months before killing
them...... same [censored], different
language... |

i take your point elephant, but by not
banishing and condemning the old testament it
could give christian radicals a war cry,
they're "acting on the first words of god"
and not the diluted new testament... |

some might take that to literally mean that
religion is secondary/irrelevant and not the
core basis of a person.
but i'd take the spirit of the words to mean
that people can recognise and treat each
other as human beings whatever their beliefs
may be.
it's just a small difference in wordng to
avoid misunderstanding. |

I agree Sparkle.
I think that if people observe religion they
will find there is more to religion than
preaching and a specific belief. In all
religious stories in any religion, behind the
idea of the word of their Gods there are
morals being taught discreetly. A kind of
moral or message that everyone eventually
learns in life from their experiences and
that everyone can relate to whether they
believe in religion or not. Some people don't
observe, others over observe to the point
that they are obsessed with their God but
forget the true words... |

define yourself as human first -religion is
part of your culture. if i were born to
islamic parents in an islamic country guess
what i'd be islamic but i was born to western
parents and in the west and guess what that
is what i am - and that's what i want to be.
I have aproblem when i am told i am wrong
because i do not think like others - brings
back history lesson!!!!! |

The only thing that I find, that is abnormal,
are those who choose to immerse themselves in
religious and or media propaganda. Using the
latter as a means to drive a wedge between
those of us who, choose to 'get along'.
I have many friends who are of Muslim
following, yet, they know that I do not have
a following as such. That has not stopped our
friendship. Nor should it.
We, (as in my Muslim friends) are of the
thought, that we have all walked the face of
this Earth long enough, to know that we are
Human Beings. And, it should not matter to
anyone what our followings are, or what color
our skin may be. We should not listen to the
likes of those, who say we should kill each
other, simply because of the latter
mentioned.

whats normal anyway ? one person could belive
that a dog is a god and anouther could belive
that a cow is a god thats normal to them but
it seems strange to others everyone is
diffrent at the end of the day if we where
all the same like religon wants us to be it
would be a pretty boring place to live |

opinion of them?
it would be interesting to know if you
demonise individuals like you demonise whole
