I have some bittersweet news for all LOTR
fans... New Line has finally agreed to make a
2 part Hobbit movie due for release in
Dec,2010. But P.Jackson's artistic
pretensions have atypically swollen his ego
to appoint G.Del Toro (Pans Labyrinth,
Hellboy) to direct instead. Although I
acknowlege DelToro as a good, workmanlike
director, he simply doesn't have Jacksons
talent or vision to properly capture epic
scope & pathos of Tolkiens novel & I'm
concerned he'll ruin the film by interpreting
it in his typically spanish rustic way, which
will wreck continuity of previous classic
LOTR movies. I think Jackson owes it to all
the loyal fans who created his current
success to at least direct said movie
himself, or compromise appointing a more
suitable director chosen by an online fan
