i really want to be a surrogate mum and have
wanted to be one since i was young. i think
it would be a great way to help someone.
i know after the child was born i wouldnt
want to keep it it.
1) i couldnt do that to the 'parents'
2) its not my partners child so it wouldnt
feel like mine.
(regardless of whether it is part mine or
not. the woman may produce eggs but not be
able to carry a child. so it could be fully
hers and her husbands.)
anyway.... just wanted your thoughts.
its illegal to advertise surrogacy so i dont
know where to start.
thanks |

ive been thinking about it since i was about
16 but i decided i wanted my own child first
just incase i had a surrogate child and for
some reason couldnt have kids again.
i have just had a reply from COTS alli... i
emailed them the other day.
they have sent me the application forms and
info.
i know how it feels to have a child and
motherhood is amazing.
if i can help someone feel the same way then
thats great. i have thought long and hard
about giving the baby up and i would never be
able to let someone down so much by wanting
to keep the child. even if the child was half
mine, i really know that it would feel more
amazing giving someone such a precious gift.

It would be such a nice thing to do for
someone, I say if you can then go for it. I
just know I couldn't do it myself. I don't
know if that makes me selfish but I just
wouldn't and probably couldn't do it. |

its best that people who arent sure or 100%
about it dont do it. it must be devestating
for s couple when the surrogate cant give
them the baby.
they anticipate the birth for a long time,
not just the 9 months.
it doesnt sound selfish sonya.... its just
not something you want to do. |

To be a surrogate you have to be the type of
woman who enjoys being pregnant (which I most
definitely do not)
being sick
being uncomfortable
being fat
And then the agony of getting it out during
the delivery and all the injections and
stitches....
No way Hose!!!

like i said....mrswolfbane, ive been thinking
about it since very young. i intend to
overcome any personal issues before i do it
and i have no medical problems apart from
depression and anxiety. if they suddenly
decided they didnt want the baby then of
course i would keep it myself. im going to
have more of my own one day and would also
like to adopt so there would be no problem.
cathy, i loved being preggers, it was the
first month after the birth i hated the
most.
its something i am a hundred percent
guaranteed to do.
it feels like i need to do it.
its not something id take lightly. |

hi
it's a very hardcore thing to do as far as
i'm concerned and i hope you do ALOT of
research before you decide, it is a wonderful
gift, but up there ^^^^ i think i read you
had a traumatic labour? could you do that all
again for someone else? what if you could'nt
have your own kids naturally after that? how
would you feel?
i also really hate to say it but what if
there was complications? how would your
partner and kids feel?
if you would like to help childless couples
you could always donate your eggs! that way
the woman in question could carry the child
and you still get to give the gift of life
with no emotional/physhical trauma!
good luck whatever you decide, i could'nt do
it myself, i love being pregnant and
breastfeeding and know i could'nt give the
baby up! to emotional for me! |

it someting im going to do. the reason my
labour was traumatic was because stupid
nurses thought i was exagerating the pain
because i was only 20!
if i hadnt have follwed my instincts, my son
could have died and i would have given birth
at home.
i have a son already and would like more
children but if i couldnt then thats ok.... i
would feel much better if i had been a
surrogate and then couldnt have children.
i have done alot of research. its been a long
time since i decided i wanted to do this.
the chances of something going wrong to the
degree where i die or something is extremely
unlikely. i really, really want to do this.
since having my son i have realised just how
great it is to have a child and if i can help
someone feel as great as me then i
will.

fair play to you then mate!
it's a brave thing to do, i was asked when i
was around the same age as you and i gave it
alot of research and in the end decided i
could'nt deal with the emotional ties,
good luck to you and all the best! |

if your friends wants to do it for you and
she 100% sure then go for it.
youre doing nothing wrong in accepting her
offer.
just make sure she honestly serious and sure
first, you should be able to judge her well
being her friend but if you know what shes
like you will have a better chance of knowing
if she will let ya down. its a huge
dissapointment if someone changes their
mind.
good luck. |

Hi there
I have just read your message and would like
to chat to about surrogacy. I have been
looking for some time but understand the
issues this raises. I would like to talk to
you with regard to this away from the forum
for obvious reasons.
Please reply and then hopefully we can all
have a chat. |
