Where not to buy in Kilmarnock??? |

Guys,
I'm looking to relocate to Kilmarnock.
After a flat, and wondering where the best
site is.
I've searched a few sites/forums that advise
staying away from Titchfield Street's old
Fire Station as its basement is in a state of
disrepair and the building is 'moving'.
Can anyone recommend another area close to
town for under £150k?

Auchencar Drive is a definite no!!! Right
next to one of the worst council house
schemes in Kilmarnock. Sure you can get a
nice flat in the town centre for less than
150k |

Thanks guys!
So Auchencar Drive and Titchfield Street are
off the list due to the drunks & druggies!
I really need a flat, so it looks like its
either the site of the old hospital or the
old trademarket on new mill road!??

HI i would take what was said with a pinch of
salt been living in this so called war zone
for over 6 years moved here into a new house,
loads of space for the money and have had
nothing happen in those years. very quiet
street good neighbours, mercs bmws saabs etc
sitting in street all untouched. Dont let
small minded locals who harp bark to history
cloud your judgement. Well worth a look |

Guys,
I've just put a deposit on a new flat near
ASDA, infact it seems to be a really quiet
wee area and came really recommended.
A few things to note about Kilmarnock seem to
be the following;
1) Avoid Titchfield St due to the druggies
and drugs.
2) As above, the olf Fire Station is in a
serious state of disrepair and the
Factors/Residents have not been taking care
of it. I was interested in flat H until I saw
the Structural Survey. Basement has been
flooded and is sinking. Stand at the Galleon
and take a look at the way the building
sits!
3) Avoid Longpark
4) Avoid Onthank
[censored].
Cheers |

If you are looking for a flat to rent I can
recommend the new build flats in New Mill
Road, I have been here since last September,
they are very well finished off and there is
plenty of space, I have just bought a house
and move in to it at the end of August |

Kilmarnock does seem to be the place to be,
and the house prices are still going up!
New Mill Road is really nice now, as is the
old hospital area.
Titchfield St seems to be falling apart
though.
