Virus. Please Help
rdmitche1 Date: 2007-11-17 Time: 13:12:46	Hi, basically i got some codec virus or something? The computer said i had to download it because i didnt have the right version, so i clicked ok then all hell broke loose. Ever since its just been going crazy, constantly saying theres spywear on the computer etc. I tried an AVG scan and it detected a trojan virus, i deleted that but its still no different! What should i do? Any ideas? Will i have to wipe the hard drive and if i do, is there any way of saving everything? Thanks. Rob

cheekychicken Date: 2007-11-17 Time: 13:38:17	I dont know how much they will charge you but you know, its what I would do If I didnt know how to remove it or couldnt. Try looking in your hard drive for rs plugin and try and get shot of it maybe. In the mean time you can email or ring pc world and ask them advice on costs for you etc

savie Date: 2007-11-17 Time: 13:43:56	try doing a system restore if your using windows xp. goto start>programs>accesories>system tool>system restore, click restore to an earlier time and select a date before you had the virus, if that fails to restore the system (it will tell you when complete) you will need to start in safe mode, restart pc and keep tapping f8 until you get the option to start in safe mode then follow above instructions, good luk.
