Sorry Chris but you're goint to have to
switch to ethernet. It's a better technology
than USB anyway.
More bad news: if you want to use the net
with the PS3 and the PC you'll need a router.
They're only about £50 though and easy enough
to set up. All you need to do is plug the
cable moden into the internet port on the
router and the 2 devices into the swich ports
on the router (which usually has a 4 port
switch). It'll make more sense when you see
the thing.
Give me a shout if you need any help. I've
set loads of the things up in the past.
Not sure if I'll get the PS3 or the Wii atm.
Quite tempted by the latter with it being so
cheap and the reviews being pretty good but
I'll wait and see.
Hi Meregirl168.
From Ozamis City heh. Strange coincidence, I
spend many a weekend there.
Yes you need a router to connect a console to
the net but if you have Sky broadband they
should have given you one as part of the
subscription. When this thread was started
nobody was doing that and even if they were,
Chris would still have had to have gotten one
as he was using a USB connection.
That said, I think computer games are a waste
of time and I wouldn't buy any console these
days. They're too obsessed with looking good
rather than actually being fun. There are too
many things going on and it's just
complicated. Bring back the NES!
