I am a Spanish Erasmus student who is
attending Cardiff University next Autumn. I
am looking for accommodation right now, and
I\'d like to know about Cardiff districts..
which are the more suitable districts for a
student to live in? Any suggestions? Which
districts should be avoided? Thanks for the
replies.
The main student areas in cardiff are roath
and cathays , they are about 1-2 miles from
the city center and packed with vaious pubs
takeaways cafes etc !.......Areas to be
avoided are Ely,ST
mellons,Pentwyn,grangetown,butetown,llanrumne
y and rumney !.................recomend roath
!
yea roath and cathays are where all the
students tend to live so i'd suggest there.if
you were and english student i'd suggest you
join me up in llanrumney it's a lovely area
Roath and Cathays are the best places for
students, loads of flats and rooms for rent
and both fairly central although even they
have certain streets to avoid. All suburbs
have their bad AND good areas and coming from
Caerau myself, I can say it's not as all as
bad as people make out. The downside is it's
on the outskirts so no good if you want to be
central.
You'll be able to find somewhere within your
price range without a problem.
If your not on a budget, pontcanna or the
city center.
The places people said are best to stay away
from are totaly true, though just under the
bridge opposite the Millenium station is a
newer student acom place called The Bakery-
It is nice there Good luck!
haha hey i live in grangetown! but i do agree
with ya...it's a pretty awful area...ahh
well, at least up the top end, near the city
centre..could be worse
depends wat collage ur attendin but i live in
llandaff very nice area if u cant drive
theres always the buses which are very
frequent and gets u to a 2 z in no time
