Halfords

I am looking at buying a road bike for me and
a mountain bike for my 18 year old son. I am
looking at taking it seriously and will clock
up quite a few miles a week, (need to loose
the weight) and want to buy a good mountain
bike that will last my son.

I have seen some good priced bikes in
Halfords, but wondered if they were any good,
anyone have any thoughts or experiences?
Thanks for your help....

Forget the fitness thing and spend your money
on beer

Have you bought the bikes yet?

I got an Apollo mountain bike from Halfords
last week.

FS.26S

Loving it so far.

Seats a bit hard on it but that can be sorted
pretty cheaply.

I just got it there and then when I was at
the store and took it home to build myself.

I think Halfords offer a free build and
safety check service. Not sure if you have to
wait a few days for your bike if you go for
that option though.

Hi
Have you tried any of the Decathlon stores?
They have very helpful staff and will advise
you on what to buy without ripping you off.

Yea, that's true. I got an Apollo Kalamunda
mountain bike from Halfords back in 1992 and
it's still going.

The frames a little bit heavier compared to
my new bike, it hasn't got front or rear
suspension and there's no disc brake but it's
not like any of those things are necessities.
