The BUPA Great South Run 2007 Needs You!
We need your support in raising much needed
funds for Diabetes UK, the UK's largest
charity supporting people with diabetes,
their families, friends and carers.
On Sunday 28th October 2007, Diabetes UK is
entering a team into the Great South Run, a
10-mile road run through the streets of
historic Portsmouth.
Diabetes UK still has a number of Great South
Run places available. If you have running
partners, friends or colleagues interested in
taking part please encourage them to take up
one of our places to help raise vital funds
for our work. The race entry is £30 and we
are asking for a minimum of £200 in
sponsorship money from each runner.
There are over 2 million people in the UK
diagnosed with diabetes, and an estimated
further 750,000 who have the condition, but
do not know it. Diabetes is a serious
condition which can lead to complications
such as heart disease, kidney damage, stroke
and lower limb amputation. It is also the
largest cause of blindness in people of
working age
Closing date for all applications is 29
August 2007.
