Sony decided to cut the price of the PS3 in
America a few days ago but they've said today
they won't be cutting the price of the PS3 in
Europe.
Yet another sign from Sony that they don't
care about European gamers or value their
custom.
With an arrogant & contemptuous attitude like
that is it any wonder the PS3 is getting it's
ass kicked by the Nintendo Wii at the
moment.
"In the UK, the PlayStation 3 remains £125
more expensive than the equivalent Xbox 360
bundle of console and games and £225 more
expensive than the Nintendo Wii with two
games." - BBC
At £425 for a PS3 I'm thinking Sony are
taking the proverbial. Especially as the Wii
only costs £179.

i know sony rip off the uk consumers partly
their fault and some the uk government for
import tax, but there are ways around this
the bbc reported of free ipods on newsnight
and doing a little research i found there are
a host of other items up for grabs in the uk
nextgen giveaway gives you either a ps3
xbox360 or a wii

i was greviously dissapointed at the ps3 cos
quite frankly...its crap! my ps2 cud kick its
ass at least it can play psone games and not
lower the quality of the graphics ect. and
theres no games! and who has got 400quid to
spend on a console anyway! all i hype for
nothing but a hunk of black shiny plastic
with wireless controllers, no games, blu-ray
but who needs it?????? and sony shud be
[censored]ing thier pants with the c*ck up
they made on what cudve been a work of gaming
art. |

Cheapest PS3 that I've seen is £389.00 on
Amazon (60GB).
£389 (PS3) Vs £249 (Xbox360)
Looks like Sony relying heavily on the PS3's
Blu-Ray player to make the difference when it
comes to PS3 sales.
Hard to see how they can justify such a price
difference other than with the built in
Blu-ray player really.

Frankly, Nintendo are the masters of shifting
consoles and it's no surprise the Wii is
selling so well.
Look at the SNES - It outsold the main rival
(Sega Mega Drive) 3 to 1. Bear in mind that
it was released a year later and you can
appreciate what an achievement this is.
Nintendo have always gone for games that play
well rather than just simply lookingg good.
The SNES was severely underpowered in
comparison to the Mega Drive but it had much
more enjoyable games. It wasn't as if it was
that much cheaper to buy either!
Sorry, but give me a NES with Duck Hunt and
Mario 1 & 3 over a PS3 any day! |

Yea, very good point.
I bought the PS2 and it's not a bad console
but for the price of it, it hasn't been good
value for money.
Not sure if that's the consoles fault or the
games that have been released for it though.
FIFA 2005 wasn't as good as I'd hoped and
GTA: San Andreas was good with the gigantic
map to explore but I want MORE!!!! Shouldn't
virtual reality be with us by now? :o(
The original Playstation was the last console
that produced the goods. Had some fab games
like Resident Evil, Gran Turismo and Grand
Theft Auto. The latter showed that graphics
aren't everything and I actually think it was
the best game the PS had. What do you think?
The NES & SNES were amazing. Thousands of
hours of fun from them. 
I doubt the PS3 will deliver the goods either
so maybe it's time for a change.

"PlayStation 3 (PS3) users in Europe will
soon be able to record and playback digital
TV on their console.
Sony has unveiled a TV tuner which plugs into
the PS3 and turns it into a personal video
recorder like Sky+.
PlayTV for PS3 is a twin TV tuner that will
launch in early 2008 in the UK, France,
Italy, Germany and Spain with other countries
to follow.
Recorded programmes can be streamed over a
wireless internet connection to the portable
PSP or transferred permanently to the
handheld console via a USB cable.
In a statement, David Reeves, president of
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, said
PlayTV would extend the "broad entertainment
credentials of PS3".
It is the first time a console has been given
PVR capabilities. Gamers will have access to
free channels that are delivered over digital
terrestrial.
Rival Microsoft has touted its Xbox 360 as a
platform for internet TV but no partner has
yet come forward while its Xbox Live video
download service has not launched outside the
US.
