I'm no stranger to computers. I work in IT
and can configure and troubleshoot PCs and
networks all day long. However, just because
I can set the things up doesn't mean I know
everything about them, contrary to popular
belief.
There are many personal applications I know
nothing about. People are always asking me
stuff about how to do stuff on various
websites and other things. If it's not a
business application, chances are I haven't a
clue!
I now have a question myself. I have never
used Ebay. I don't really have a clue what
I'm doing. I have apparently 'won' an auction
and just wondered how the hell I pay for the
item. I understand ebusinesses as they have
integrated credit card processing but this is
a real person I'm buying from. How do I pay
for it? It's only £6.99 and I have no way of
contacting her as I was hoping to mail her a
cheque.
Any advice? |

What happens if I don't get the item? I've
never trusted sites like eBay as you never
know who you're buying from. At least the
freeads you physicly turn up and see the item
before the transaction, and usually at the
seller's house so you know where to go back
to if it doesn't work. |

D: theres no absolute guarrantee, you can
check their rating?
When you win you will see a"pay Now" box you
can choose the option you want to pay from
that, just tick the appropriate box and it
wll take you to the next step.
Any doubt msg the seller and confirm how you
want to pay. Paypal if you have an account
set up with Bank details is secure. |

Well, like fsm said, there's no guarantee but
they do have a complaints system in place &
if you pay by paypal/credit card, you have a
bit more comeback if anything goes wrong.
I've never had any problems using ebay but
that might just be more luck than anything
else lol. |

Ive bought Two things this week and no probs,
some time back I paid for something but it
did'nt arrive in the post but it was
confirmed as sent but lost in the post. I am
in discussion now with the seller to get my
money back, but if that fails there is a
guarantee with e-bay themselves in these
situations. |

Thanks guys. I've managed to get her email
and postal address so I'll send her a cheque.
I'm not bothered too much about £7 but the
thing I'm buying isn't available in shops,
that's why I turned to eBay in the first
place. |
