I've noticed that more and more older women
(50+) are dressing more stylish and sexy and
even wearing mini skirts. I don't have a
problem with it and I think that people
should feel sexy at any age.
I went shopping the other day and there was
this woman in her late 50s who was dressed in
a nice jacket with a mini skirt and boots.
I wish she had opaque tights on because you
could see the varicose veins on her legs
ewww. I was going to tell her but she'd
probably be offended lol.
She was drawing attention to herself though
as she was arguing with her husband in a
really loud voice.
Do you think good for them and they should
dress how they like or is it a case of mutton
dressed as lamb?

Doubt that's a good look.
I'm sure the phrase "mutton dressed as lamb"
would come to mind more often than not.

Older women who dress sexy are fine but it is
when they dont quite understand the line
between sexy and [censored]ty. Some just
dont see when they pass from sleek to mutton
dressed as lamb!! |

I think I'm with classie on this one, I bet
you look fab hun. If someone looks after
themselves then there's no reason why they
shouldn't dress how them like.
I wonder if women on the site who used to
dress in quite sexy outfits when younger,
have started to wear more comfortable clothes
as they have got older?
Is it peer pressure to dress down when you're
older or is it the change in lifestyle e.g.
becoming a mum and wearing minis is not high
on the list?

I think it really depends. My mom is 55 and
look DAMN good. Costing on good genes (my
family ages quite well) and taking care of
herself - she lifts weights,does aerobics and
eats healthy. She is frequently mistaken for
my younger brother's girlfriend!
I am only hoping that I will age so well.
Even if a person looks - well not their best
in the fishnets and micro mini I think people
should be free toe wear what they want AND
they have a right to be free from abuse. Not
free from stares, though it would be nice if
people had enough home training to be polite. |

I've only just started getting into minis etc
since i hit 30 and I've just bought my
shortest one ever, so I'm in no hurry to pack
them away! That said, I guess that when I'm
older I'll team a short skirt with a more
conservative top than I go out in these days
and then go for opaque tights for example. I
guess subtly sexy and classy will be the
order of the day... but until then...! ;-) |

How do you define sexy when you dress. I
think everyone should dress like they feel
but....ffs look in the mirror before you go
out. Trendy is not always good. I think a
little good common sense should go with
stepping out of the house. |

theres tasteful and theres grotesque, if you
have the figure and the personality to carry
of short/revealing/sexy outfits then good on
you, everyone should dress as they are happy
and comfortable, but obviously i dont want to
see the queen in pvc hotpants and a bikini
top!!!! |

In response to Abigail 114, "Older women
dressing sexy", I must add my say to the
subject.
As a semi-professional photographer i must
say i've had my fair share of photographing
both the young, and the not so young female
form both dressed and nude. And i must admit
that some of the more mature female bodies
have been better looking than some 18yr olds
with over-painted faces and fake jewerlly to
match. Also i can with a better working
relationship with female over 30, than i can
with the younger ones without their strops
and tantrums. |

Nothing worse than seeing an older woman
showing off a pierced belly button,no i am
sorry but flabby guts hanging over the waist
band is like classie says not sexy.Only a
very few woman of later age can dress sexy
without looking [censored]tish,most times a
woman who dresses elegantly can look as sexy
as feck |

most younger models can't hold a candle to
them.
most men an women look better as they age.
youth has a harshness an selfishness an
vanity that can b unappealing.however u dress

I think it's been decided that older women
shouldn't dress in revealing clothing no one
wants to see a wrinkly chest or a flabby rear
end and belly or legs with vericose veins or
with all combined.It may look good in their
own eyes and to sicko pervs but not to us who
can tell lamb from mutton.Some older women
may look younger but after that lenght of
time a persons face never lies unless they
have had surgery or other.

Depends what you class as 'sexy'
I don't wanna sound 'ageist' but you don't
wanna see a 50 year old bird in knee high
boots and mini skirts...thats not sexy, thats
disillusioned. There are some things you just
can't get away with at a certain age, and
thats one of 'em.
My Mum looks great for 48 but if i saw her
dressed like that i'd tell her to stay
indoors. |

I think that people tend to dress in a way
that matches their attitude, personality and
general demeanor.
Also, mood can can affect what you wear.
But the day i start dressing down, and
conforming to what is expected of me, will be
the day that the age in my brain catches up
with my body, and i become boring and too
serious.
And i hope to god that that day never comes

Was it abigail who said something about peer
pressure to dress down when you're older? Not
so, im my experience. I felt much more
pressured by my peers when I was younger. I
like to think, that I've grown out of that.
And I'm pleased to say that I've not grown
out of size 10. |

I've never felt pressured at any age - thank
god - and i have never followed trends or
conformed in any way.
I wear what i like, and if anyone has a
problem with it, it is THEIR problem and not
mine. |
