What should be The Warrior Diet? |

The Warrior diet is a controversial diet that
encourages under-eating during the day and
then feasting at night. It is designed to
mimic the way a warrior would eat (Spartans
are mentioned by the creator).
I was just wondering if anyone had tried this
diet or knows anything about it?
It seems to go against a lot of the more
traditional methods of dieting e.g. 6 small
meals a day.
Cheers Guys

the vikings believe that the glorious fallen
would practice there martial skills all day
then feast and drink all night in the halls
of valhalla ,this was common practice for
many of the northern peoples to make use of
the limited daylight in winter. In terms of
the spartans and the classic histories, its a
case of being able to eat as and when you
can, and as most of the doctrines of war of
that time it was considered bad manners to
fight in the dark.A more practical approach,
eating protein will require longer to digest
and thus leave you feeling fuller for longer
aiding a restful sleep, small amounts of
fruit would be consumed dureing the day to
maintain blood sugar levels. most often drunk
was a weak wine as most of the water was
unclean .Then stronger wine with the aproach
of dark |

I think it sort of makes sense. During the
day, you are bashing people, so you eat late
at night to prepare your body for the next
day. I eat a lot at night and not much during
the day, but I don't find it makes any
difference when I eat to be honest. To known
better have a look
at[censored]winyourmmafight[censored] you
will get detailed information on dieting. I
have a cast iron gut and a ridiculous
metabolism, so I never get fat and don't get
stomach problems. |

i eat what i
want-chocolate,sweets-anything.you can as
long as you keep training.six weeks before i
fight i'll start running further etc and
slowly start changing my diet from chocolate
to fruit, eat slightly smaller portions and
start keeping an eye on the scales.i'll make
the correct weight just before my fight.as
soon as i had my fight the diet goes into the
bin and its straight back down the kebab
shop. |

Well bear in mind that the context has
changed now. We dont live like spartans
anymore. We have to hold down jobs and stuff
like this so it probably is obsolete anyway.
For your diet I would reccomend lots of
protein, complex carbohydrates and vitamins
and minerals. Try to stay away from
supplements. Instead go for the 6 small meals
a day and get a good variety of foods
possibly with shakes or sports bars inbetween
or whatever. Go for red meat, tuna, turkey,
chicken, pasta, bread, rice, fruit and veg,
etc according to your tastes. Also bear in
mind that no ones metabolism is the same. If
you have a slow metabolism then you will have
the potential for a lot of muscle but you
will have the potential to put on a lot of
fat as well. If you have a faster metabolism
then you will probably be very lean, slim and
flexible but will have the potential to
become malnourished due to the demands that
your body will place on your diet. You are
your own best teacher in regard to this. Just
observe what works and what doesnt and be
aware of any changes in weight, muscle mass,
appetite and so on. Good luck. |
