Have u ever been involved with modern Pirate
Radio.... where people broadcast illeglly
using equipment they have made for other
people to listen to?
Normally in citys as theres more people in
smaller area (so more chances of people
hearing your broadcast and harder to track
down with so many possible locations).
I once DJ'd on a pirate station in Bath
nearly 10 years ago. only for a hour tho,
Only because i got chatting to people who
were doing it. think they got cought tho. one
of those things where u mix with the wrong
crowd i guess.
But many DJ's start their careers from their
experiences in Pirate Radio, past and present
(BBC Radio 1 was the BBC's answer to Pirate
radio of the 60's and some of there shows are
similer to modern pirate stations such as
1Xtra).
but yeh... by the way, didnt use my DJ name i
use now, had a different name so i could be
identified on air but not in person! |

and the award for most comical joke goes
to....
hehe! well yeh, thats part of the reason i
didnt stick with pirate radio, (plus its
agenst the law).
I like Trance, indie, rock style stuff but
none of the pirate stations cater for that
hehe!
The one i was at was more like rap and
"noise" as so many people call it hehe! |

erm..well naked if its not me
maybe...*worried*
yeh, technically if u listen to a pirate
radio station (one thats not licenced to
broadcast) then you are also breaking the
law.. Same sorta thing as borrowing music
from your mates..but its not to do with
copyright but something to do with being a
supporter if u listen to them! Bit like those
piracy ads in the cinema..similer sorta thing
to that...its all too complicated and bizzare
for me to understand but yeh!
The moment u tune into a pirate station your
breaking the law..cool eh hehe! |
