Well theres one near me. Where I got the
cream eggs from.
You get a massive tray of chips and gravy
like you wouldnt believe with mushrooms and
onions!
All for £1.35. Mmmmmmmm
A few years ago we used to get our tea every
friday from the chip shop. It was cheap
then.
Imagine fish chips and peas for 4 of you
now?
it'd cost a small fortune.
the second world war, in liverpool. so
theirs only the chinese ones lefted and
theirs plenty off them,,,, all over the land,
but they cost a arm and a leg now,,,,, the
prices.....
there used to be a chip shop in islington
called the upper street fish shop which did
brilliant fish & chips...(and this coming
from someone who's worked in a chippie!)...
unfortunately they moved a couple of years
ago to the other side of the angel...and it's
gone a bit poncey for me...but the food is
till great...
closest thing to gourmet fish and chips you
can get...
(not that i don't like my chips wrapped in
newspaper, mind...but just occasionally to
have it cooked to perfection, using the best
spuds, is great! )
hmmmmm at the mo, i would have to say the
crest of the wave in derby, i've had to get
used to the english way of eating chippies,
nae chip shop sauce!!!! no really!!!
i nearly moved back..........
Not in Renfrewshire anyway. All the ones I've
tried in my area have been mediocre.
There was a good one up in Glasgow that I
used to use. Near Anniesland industrial
estate, was 2003 last time I used it though
so not sure if it's still there.
Got good fish'n'chips in Dunoon once and
there's a chippy in Mallaig that sells really
yummy haddock and chips. Even get a slice of
lemon to sprinkle over the fish, nice touch!
Fish'n'chips always seem to taste better near
the sea. mmm!!
I remember cycling to London and back a few
years ago (about 400 miles in 5 days.)
And nearing home I saw a chip shop
(Heaven)
I had'nt had anything hot since setting off 5
days previous. They were the best chips Ive
ever had! Somewhere in Whitchurch it was.
best fish and chips i ever had was in dublin,
dunno the name of the place, it was near the
post office in phibsboro. size of a whale so
it was, it was delish
M & M ON Gateshead high street,they have won
loads of awards, and there Fish And Chips with
batter on are delightful ,yummie yummie in my
tummie. but then again yummie yummie
a stone on me tummie
I believe one of the best in the UK - has one
several awards - is in Weymouth.. not on the
sea front, but in the town centre
I've been in twice - but can't advertise on
here or I'll get banned lol... look up
weymouth fish and chips and it's right at the
top of the list lol
