Mike Tyson was never the cleanest of fighters
i agree but in his younger days he was never
really a dirty fighter either usually his
fights didnt last long enuff for him to get
dirty!!!
Tyson with Cus D`amato had the potential to
become one of the very best champions of all
time maybe even The best but as we know
D`Amato died and Took part of Tyson with
him.
If Tyson had been able to keep his head
together i dont think Buster Douglas would of
lasted 3 rnds with him and if he never went
to jail i think he would have been too much
for Holyfield and Lewis but then maybe i`m
wrong as in fights against the likes of Mitch
Green and Tony Tucker Tyson did look beatable
by a sound boxer with a good chin and a hard
jab.
He was the most exiting heavyweight i ever
seen tho but unfortunatly i dont think he
reached even 60% of his potential. Wot a
waste! |

Joe is a very good fighter but i`m not sure
about all time great tho, he has fought in
his back yard for most of his ten year reign
and has never been the most consistent of
fighters, He did look Awesome against Lacy
tho (i thought he was gonna lose that one)
But struggled a bit in his next fight.
He should destroy Peter Manfredo in his next
fight tho...and u cant argue with his record! |

Ah Raging Bull....De Nero plays a good
part...if u thought the film was rough u
should check out some of Jake Lamottas
fights...may i recomend any of his 5 fight
series with Sugar Ray Robinson or his June
1949 fight with Marcel Cerdan, his rematch
with Bob Murphy in 1952 was a cracker
aswell.... |

Ali first.
I'd have Marciano 2nd. 49-0 speaks for itself
and he wasn't all that big a man.
Pound for pound - Henry Armstrong. Wasn't he
champ in 4 weight divisions?

It would have to be Rocky Marciano. He was a
mean and tough S.O.B. He was a heavyweight
at 190 lbs with no reach. But knocked out
90% of the fighters who fought him. He grew
up in a hard life which made him that hard
and mean. No doubt the best boxer ever /
pound for pound. |
