| Chat Room Moderator |
We are looking for people who would like to join the UKCB Moderator Team. You will be placed into one room of your choice and two others of the best interest of the service. Once you have experience you will join more rooms and keep the service safe and fun for everyone online.
Requirements:
- Must be aged 18 or over.
- Must have used the service for at least 3 months with their registered nickname.
- Please have a good record when applying for this role.
- Must show maturity and common sense.
- Must be willing to learn mIRC to moderate.

| Technical Operator |
We are looking for someone who would like to join the UKChatterbox technical staff. This is a unique position that will likely evolve over time to suit the needs of the site. Successful applicants would be attached to the help team and would have other technical duties assigned as the need arises. This is NOT a room moderator role and you will not be expected to moderate the chat rooms.
Applicants must:
- Be aged 18 or over.
- Have used the chat service for at least 3 months and be known to our staff.
- Have a good grasp of at least one modern programming language and be willing to teach his/herself others as needed (PHP, C or mIRC script would be particularly advantageous).
- Have an in-depth understanding of UKChatterbox website and its features.
- Have a good knowledge of IRC and the associated commands (knowledge of UnrealIRCd and Anope Services is preferred).
- Have a fair history/record with UKChatterbox.
Please note that while you will be given assistance to perform your role, you will not be trained in things such as programming or how IRC works. You are expected to already be technically orientated and be willing to teach yourself what you don't already know (with guidance given as appropriate).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assisting users in the live help channel.
- Undertaking programming tasks as needed.
- Dealing with unanswered technical queries that have been escalated by staff.
