| NASA scientists discover signs of primitive life in lunar dust! |
For decades scientists at NASA have been painstakingly sifting through the various rocks and dust brought back from the moon by the Apollo missions of the 1970's. In a press release a few minutes ago they announced the discovery of remnants of what appears to be a simple organism in one of the samples.
Using computer enhanced modelling technicians have been able to reconstruct an image of this creature which is roughly the same size as a bacterium. Unlike Earthbound organisms of a similar size however this one seems to have 6 microscopic tendril-like appendages. Leading scientist Dr. Thomas Lee has desribed the entity as being 'tick like' in form.
Speaking from the US embassy in London where he is staying in preparation for the G20 summit, US president Barack Obama is quoted as saying, 'It's a great day for the American nation and American science, which leads the world in space research. When I get back to the Whitehouse I certainly expect to find a new funding proposal from NASA waiting on my desk'.
News of the discovery has been greeted with both enthusiasm and awe from scientists around the world. NASA have indicated that they will be posting reconstructed pictures of the bug on the internet later today. It is recommended that in order to track them down you simply type "lunar bug" or "lunar tick" into your chosen search engine.
